Electrical Engineer

NSV is a specialist supplier of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment and systems, renowned for innovative solutions; designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining systems for offshore and onshore clients worldwide.

We currently have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to work as part of a multi-discipline engineering project team providing the electrical authority within the team, reporting to Projects Manager and Technical Manager. The electrical engineer is responsible for the completion of their allocated tasks within the project team on time, to specification and within budget.  To this end the electrical engineer performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, working to project deadlines, working closely with clients and electrical design.

 

Experience

The candidate should have evidence of the following experience:

  • Hazardous area design and build knowledge (preferred but not essential)
  • Working within a project team
  • Producing of manufacturing and project documentation & drawings
  • Control Panel design

 In addition, the candidate will be expected to do the following:

  • Work in line with company procedures and standards
  • Review work prepared by other engineers and members of the engineering team
  • Manage day to day operational aspects of the projects
  • Maintain project files
  • Develop design work from conceptual to detail utilising computer assisted design; AutoCad Electrical, AutoCAD and other software as required.
  • Design electrical systems and equipment in line with project/UK/international standards and specifications
  • Optimise design with a view to reduce procurement costs, production time and documentation costs.
  • Produce 2D  drawings to optimise the manufacturing process and minimise costs
  • Peer check colleagues work before issuing for official review
  • Be aware of current trends and developments within profession
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation
  • Have financial awareness of projects
  • Work within and report on allocated budgets
  • Manage suppliers & sub-contractors
  • BOM Generation & management
  • Assist in supplier selection process and quality approval
  • Work to project plans/targets and lead-times

 


 

Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical engineer is responsible for the completion of their allocated tasks within the project team on time, to specification and within budget.  To this end the mechanical engineer performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, working to project deadlines, working closely with clients and mechanical design.

 Experience

 The candidate should have the following experience:

  • AutoCAD (essential)
  • SolidWorks or similar 3D package (preferred but not essential)
  • Hazardous area design and build knowledge (preferred but not essential)
  • HVAC experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Sheet Metal Work Design
  • Working within a project team
  • Producing of manufacturing and project documentation & drawing.

In addition, the candidate will be expected to do the following:Develop design work from conceptual to detail utilising computer assisted design; AutoCAD, SolidWorks and other software as required.

Sheet Metal Worker

 

The candidate role includes:

  • Correct interpretation of drawings, diagrams and route cards
  • Accurately measure and mark out various types of sheet metals
  • Achieve a reliable and acceptable standard of planning and completion of documentation at the first attempt
  • Use of hand tools, power tools and plant equipment
  • Sheet cutting and collection of scrap
  • Use of MIG, TIG, Brazing, and spot welding
  • Assembly work using various fastening types
  • Insulation application
  • Fit out of components in HVAC systems
  • Cleaning of sheet metals (including acid cleaning and abrasion)
  • Assist in packing of finished products
  • Follow regulations based on relevant safety standards
  • Assist in the training and instruction of apprentices and other work colleagues

 


 

Welder

 

The candidate role includes:

  • Correct interpretation of drawings, diagrams and route cards
  • Accurately measure and mark out various types of sheet and plate metals
  • Achieve a reliable and acceptable standard of work and completion of documentation at the first attempt
  • Use of hand tools, power tools and plant equipment
  • Sheet and plate cutting and collection of scrap
  • Use of MIG, TIG, Brazing, and spot welding
  • Assembly work using various fastening types
  • Insulation application
  • Fit out of components in HVAC systems
  • Cleaning of sheet metals (including acid cleaning and abrasion)
  • Follow regulations based on relevant safety standards
  • Assist in the training and instruction of apprentices and other work colleagues
  • Prime / paint carbon steel fabrications

 

 

 

 


Refrigeration Engineer

 

The candidate role includes:

 

  • Correct interpretation of refrigeration drawings, diagrams and route cards
  • Achieve a reliable and acceptable standard of planning and completion of documentation at the first attempt
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Install project specific pipework and components
  • Identify refrigeration problems and perform fault finding to carry out corrections / repairs
  • Follow regulations based on relevant safety standards
  • Assist in the training and instruction of apprentices and other work colleagues
  • Perform brazing and refrigerant gas handling (F-Gas)
  • Have a working knowledge of electrical circuits

 

 


Electrician

We currently have an opportunity for a time served Electrician to work as part of a multi-discipline manufacturing team providing the electrical support within the team, reporting to electrical charge hand and works Manager. The electrician is responsible for the completion of their allocated tasks within the manufacturing team on time, to specification and to an acceptable standard.  To this end the electrician performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, working to project deadlines, working closely with colleagues in a multi-disciplined team and electrical testing.

 

Experience

The candidate should have evidence of the following experience:

  • 17th edition
  • Hazardous area build knowledge (preferred but not essential)
  • Working within a project team
  • Reading and understanding of manufacturing and project documentation & drawings
  • An understanding of electrical controls
  • Control Panel build and wiring

The candidate role includes:

  • Installation of cable management systems
  • Installation of cables and fitting cable glands
  • Building, wiring and testing of control panels
  • Fault finding on PLC based and relay logic control systems
  • Follow regulations based on relevant safety standards
  • Assist in the training and instruction of apprentices and other work colleagues
  • Achieve a reliable and acceptable standard of planning and completion of documentation
